The Therapeutic Adventure Camp of Orange, also known as TACO, is located in Orange Virginia. It is a 4-H sponsored event run by a committee of volunteers. The program serves special needs youth ages 9-19 that are Orange County residents. The campers participate in activities such as horseback riding, arts and crafts, and horse education. TACO offers a week long summer camp and Spring and Fall camp days.

2021 Monday Camp

 2021 Monday Camp

We are so happy to be back at camp after a year long break due to COVID. Our first day back was a HOT one, thank goodness for the breeze and indoor! We LOVED seeing so many new and returning faces this morning! This year we have 10 campers and thirty five volunteers! Our first day of 2021 went amazing! 

In the ring, campers worked on grooming their horses, mounting, learning to stop, back and steer. Campers also practiced giving thumbs up to Jim and petting their horses. Today was a great day for our returning campers to get accustom to being back in the saddle and for our new campers to meet their camp ponies! 








In arts and crafts campers made home made instruments and hand print animals. They will get to use their instruments tomorrow with Ms. Lindsay in music time.







Today in our third station campers had a super bubble station! These aren't just your ordinary bubbles and judging from what I saw, they were a hit! 



At the end of the day, campers enjoyed snacks provided by Orange Baptist Church and ice pops from Orange Presbyterian Church. 

Tomorrow is looking to be another hot one, but we are excited to see everyone for day TWO!
